Located in the north west of Cheshire and spanning the southern part of the Wirral peninsula, Ellesmere Port and Neston is a place of contrasts. The boroughs main town of Ellesmere Port developed when commercial trading commenced along the Shropshire Union Canal and later the Manchester Ship Canal and is now home to a busy shopping outlet and traditional market.

Yet to the west of Ellesmere Port are many rural villages, with Neston a bustling town and Parkgate, a popular 18th century bathing resort.
