Explore the Towns and Villages of Ellesmere and Neston

Ellesmere Port and Neston is in the north west of Cheshire spanning the southern part of the Wirral peninsula, stretching from the River Dee on one side to the Mersey on the other.

Neston

Neston has always retained its importance as a town despite its changing fortunes as a Medieval agricultural settlement, 17th century port, mining village and market town.

Willaston

An attractive village situated in the heart of the Wirral countryside. The history of the village shows it has been an important agricultural settlement for over a thousand years.

Burton

An attractive north Cheshire village of stone and thatch with views across the River Dee to Wales. The main street curves past a variety of small cottages and many are built on the sandstone bedrock that outcrops at different places.

Ellesmere Port

Home to some of Cheshire's finest attractions. It is here that the Shropshire Union Canal system joins the Manchester Ship Canal. Civic centres and modern housing now surround the pleasant countryside and farmland.

Parkgate

Bordering on the River Dee, Parkgate is a great vantage point for the surrounding salt marshes - idea position for birdwatchers. Ideal feeding places for duck, wild geese and sea birds - popular with naturalists.

Ness

The birthplace of a blacksmith's daughter, who gained fame and fortune with her physical charms........she became Lady Emma Hamilton when she married Sir William Hamilton in 1791. She later became Lord Nelson's mistress, giving birth to his daughter in 1801.
