Stanney Woods Local Nature Reserve

Stanney Woods is an ancient woodland of oak and silver birch, with some hazel and holly. It is excellent for bird watching and also exceptionally good for fungi in the autumn.

Special events and practical conservation tasks are held throughout the year, check the notice board for details.

From Stanney Woods you can explore the countryside around Backford and Little Stanney, using the public rights of way network.
